Target Description: GluN2B/NR2b glutamate receptor, also known as Glutamate/N-methyl D-aspartate/NMDA receptor subtype 2B, is a member of the NMDA receptor family. NMDA receptors are expressed throughout the CNS in postsynaptic cell membranes. GluN2B is a major NMDAR subtype found in cortical and hippocampal regions of the adult brain. NMDA receptors are involved with memory and learning. Mutations in the gene encoding GluN2B are associated with autism, LennoxGastaut and West Syndromes.
